Overview

Changes to a form can affect its fields, notifications, and confirmations. GravityRevisions keeps a history of form revisions, giving administrators a record to review when they need to understand what changed or return to an earlier setup. It fits sites that use Gravity Forms to collect submissions and want a way to manage changes to the forms themselves.

When a form is saved, GravityRevisions records a revision that can be reviewed and restored. Form notifications and confirmations are included in those revisions, so they can be recovered along with the rest of the form. Before applying a restore, the plugin saves the current form as another revision, giving teams a way to undo that change if needed.

Features

  • Automatic form revisions: The plugin saves a revision when a Gravity Forms form is changed, creating a history of previous form configurations.
  • Review change history: View a form's revision history to review its earlier configurations and see how the form has changed over time.
  • Restore earlier forms: Apply a previous revision to return a form to an earlier configuration when a change needs to be undone.
  • Backup before restoring: Before a revision is restored, the current form is saved as a new revision, so that restore can be undone.
  • Include notifications and confirmations: Form notifications and confirmations are saved in revisions and restored with the form, keeping those settings with the selected version.
  • Revision count in Forms table: See a revision count in the Gravity Forms Forms table to check how many saved revisions a form has.

Best for

  • Sites managing Gravity Forms forms
  • Teams reviewing form changes
  • Administrators restoring earlier form setups

Changelog

Version 1.9.0 — 27 August 2026

  • New Backs up the current form as a new revision before a restore, so a restore can be undone.
  • New Includes form notifications and confirmations in form revisions, so they are versioned and restored with the form.
  • New Adds a revision count to the Gravity Forms Forms table.
  • Fixed A form revision being applied to the wrong form — revisions are now validated against their own form before restoring.
  • Fixed A single form save creating more than one revision, inflating the revision count.
  • Fixed Editing a notification or confirmation on its own not creating a form revision, leaving the change out of the form's revision history.
  • Fixed A "translation loading was triggered too early" notice on WordPress 6.7 and later, caused by loading settings translations during startup.
  • Improved Adds `before`/`after` actions around form-revision save, restore, and delete: - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/save/before` and `/after`; - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/restore/before` and `/after`; - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/delete/before` and `/after`.
  • Improved Adds the `gk/gravityrevisions/entry-revisions/restore/after` action, which fires after an entry has been restored from a revision and receives the entry ID, the entry before the restore, the restored entry, and the revision ID — restoring suppresses Gravity Forms' entry update hooks so notifications and feeds don't fire, which also leaves anything caching entry data (a calendar subscription, a search index) with nothing else to listen for.
  • Improved Foundation to version 1.31.0.
