Fair play and conduct

GPL 247 works because members use it as it’s meant to be used. This page explains what’s fine, what isn’t, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Last updated 24 October 2026

The short version

  • Use products on as many sites as you like, yours and your clients’.
  • Keep your account to yourself, and download what you need rather than everything.
  • No bots, scrapers or shared logins.
  • If something looks wrong, we’ll usually get in touch before we do anything.

What’s fine

Can I use products on my clients’ sites?

Yes. Use what you download on as many of your own and your clients’ sites as you like.

Can I connect the Updater to lots of sites?

Yes, any site you look after. You can see the sites using your key in My Account. Please remove sites you no longer manage.

Can people in my team use my account?

An account is for one person or one business. If several people need products, have one person handle the downloads, or talk to us about what would work for your team.

Can I share the files I download?

The GPL lets you share the code. What you can’t share is your account: your login, your Updater key and your download links stay with you.

Download limits

Why are there daily download limits?

Every download uses resources that all members share. Daily limits keep the store fast and fair for everyone, and help keep prices low.

How do the limits work?

Each plan has its own daily limit, shown on the Plans page. Your account shows how many downloads you have left today and when the count resets.

What if I need more downloads?

The Yearly plan has a higher daily limit. If you regularly need more than that, contact us.

Why did downloads stop when I hadn’t reached my limit?

Very occasionally, downloads may pause for everyone until the daily reset, to protect the service. We work to keep this from happening. If it affects you often, let us know.

What isn’t allowed

What counts as misuse?

  • Sharing your login, or selling or renting access to your account.
  • Using bots, scripts or scrapers, or downloading in bulk to copy or mirror the store.
  • Getting around download limits, for example with several accounts.
  • Posting your Updater key publicly or giving it to people who don’t manage your sites.
  • Paying with a card you’re not allowed to use, or opening false payment disputes.
  • Trying to break into, overload or attack the site.

Why can’t I download everything at once?

Downloading the whole catalogue uses resources meant for every member. Download what you need, when you need it. New versions reach you through the Updater anyway.

How we treat each other

What do you expect when I contact you?

Be polite and we will be too. We won’t accept threats, harassment or abusive messages, and we may stop replying to them.

If something goes wrong

What happens if you spot a problem with my account?

We’ll usually contact you first, and we may limit downloads while we look into it. For serious problems, such as fraud, attacks or selling access, we may suspend the account straight away.

Will I get a refund if my account is closed?

If we close an account for breaking these rules, we don’t refund the unused part of the plan. If we got it wrong, we’ll restore your account and add back the time you lost.

How do I appeal?

Contact us within 30 days from the email address on your account, and tell us what happened. A real person will look at it and reply within 2 working days.
