wpForo Private Messages

Forum replies are visible in public discussions, while some conversations are better kept between selected members. This plugin adds private messaging to a wpForo forum, so users can communicate directly without posting in a public thread. Conversations are visible to the sender and intended recipients, and members use their forum nicknames when messaging.

Members can access conversations from the Messages page in their profile. The plugin supports individual and group chats, with AJAX-powered message loading and email alerts for new messages. Users can manage contacts and conversations with controls to add, remove, block, report, hide, or delete. Forum administrators can set post requirements, daily contact limits, and message permissions.

Features

• Individual and group chats: Let forum members send private messages to one person or start conversations with multiple members.
• Profile message page: Members can find and organize their conversations from a dedicated Messages page in their forum profile.
• Message management controls: Users can add or remove contacts, block and report people, and hide or delete conversations.
• Email alerts: Send users an email notification when a new private message arrives.
• Permission settings: Set minimum forum post requirements, daily contact limits, and message permissions to help prevent unwanted use.
• Embedded content: Allow members to include images, URLs, and other content within private messages.
