Overview
A product launch or restock can attract orders before inventory is ready. This plugin lets WooCommerce stores offer pre-orders for simple and variable products, so customers can place an order ahead of availability. Set an optional release date and choose whether to charge customers upfront or when the product is released.
Manage pre-orders from a dedicated dashboard where you can filter orders, delay or complete them, cancel them, and email customers. The plugin can release pre-orders automatically or manually. Customizable product messages, button text, countdown timers, and email notifications help explain the pre-order process and keep customers informed.
Features
- Choose when to charge: Set pre-orders to charge customers upfront or automatically collect payment when the product is released.
- Schedule product releases: Set an optional date and time for product availability, then release pre-orders automatically or handle release manually.
- Manage pre-orders: Use the dedicated dashboard to view and filter pre-orders, delay or complete them, cancel orders, and email customers.
- Customize product messaging: Adjust pre-order button text and product messages, and display countdown timers on the store's frontend.
- Send customer notifications: Automatically notify customers about order status, product releases, and payment requests.
- Set a pre-order fee: Add a separate fee to pre-orders, with an option to collect a deposit for an order.

Changelog
Version 2.3.8 — 28 September 2026
- Fixed Improved handling of pre-order release payments, so a pre-order that has already been paid is not charged again.
- Fixed A pre-order that is skipped during the Complete action is now recorded in an order note and reported as skipped on the Manage Pre-Orders screen.
- New Add the wc_pre_orders_release_payment_charged action so payment gateways can discard the payment token they stored for an order once its release payment has been taken.
- Improved A pre-order with a recorded release payment can no longer be changed to completed, and is no longer returned to active by an order status change. The wc_pre_orders_allow_duplicate_release_payment and wc_pre_orders_auto_update_pre_order_status filters restore the previous behavior.
- New Add a GitHub Actions workflow that runs the PHPUnit unit test suite on pull requests.
- New Add GitHub Actions workflows to run QIT against WooCommerce pre-releases, manually and on a weekly schedule.
