Directorist - Universal Search

A directory can contain listings across many categories and custom fields, which can make it harder for visitors to find a relevant entry. This plugin adds a search experience for directory listings, so users can search across those categories and fields rather than relying on a basic search limited to a narrow set of entries.

Visitors can enter keywords and narrow their search with location, category, tag, or custom attribute filters. Search results update as users type, helping them refine what they are looking for while browsing. The plugin works with the Directorist setup and includes options to adjust the search bar and results page to suit the site’s design.

Features

• Search across listings: Let visitors search directory listings across multiple categories and custom fields from a shared search experience.
• Results as users type: Display dynamic search results while visitors enter a query, giving them a way to refine their search as they type.
• Filter by location: Allow visitors to narrow listing searches by location, category, tag, or custom attribute.
• Keyword and category search: Give visitors options to search by keywords and categories, alone or together with other available search criteria.
• Directorist integration: Use the search functionality with an existing Directorist setup to help visitors find relevant directory listings.
• Adjust the search interface: Customize the appearance of the search bar and results page to better match the website’s branding.
