BuddyPress Friendship Restrictions

Friend requests can be difficult to manage when users can connect without limits. This plugin gives administrators controls for deciding which user roles can send requests and which roles can be added as friends. These rules help site owners manage how connections form across a BuddyPress community, including spaces where unrestricted requests may lead to unwanted or excessive contact.

Administrators can also limit the number of requests a user sends within a set time period and set a maximum friend count. The plugin works with BuddyPress and BuddyBoss Platform, and developers can adapt restriction rules using filters. It suits community sites that want role-based control over friend connections and a way to manage request volume.

Features

• Control request senders: Set restrictions by user role to decide which members of the community can send friendship requests.
• Control who can be added: Choose which user roles can be added as friends, giving administrators control over how community connections are formed.
• Limit request frequency: Set a cap on the number of friendship requests users can send during a specified time period.
• Set friend count limits: Define a maximum number of friends for each user to keep connection counts within the limits administrators choose.
• Customize with filters: Developers can use filters to customize the plugin's restriction rules for the needs of a particular community.
• Works with community platforms: Use the plugin with BuddyPress or BuddyBoss Platform to manage friendship requests and friend limits on a community site.
