BuddyPress Block Users

In a BuddyPress community, members can use blocking to manage unwanted interactions with other users. The plugin can prevent blocked pairs from sending private messages or friendship requests, and it can stop activity mentions between them. These controls give members options for limiting contact within the social network.

Site administrators can set which user roles are allowed to block others and whitelist roles that cannot be blocked. The plugin can also automatically remove friendships or follows when a block occurs. Optional blocking reasons and admin notifications provide additional context for moderation, while profile, member listing, activity feed, and comment restrictions help shape what blocked users can see.

Features

• Role-based permissions: Choose which user roles can block others, and whitelist roles that members cannot block.
• Remove social connections: Automatically remove a friendship or follow between users when one blocks the other.
• Restrict private messages: Prevent users in a blocked pair from sending private messages to each other.
• Control activity interactions: Stop activity mentions between blocked users and filter their activity posts and comments from each other.
• Limit profile visibility: Restrict profile visibility to blocked users and hide blocked members from each other's member listings.
• Notify admins: Optionally send administrators alerts when members block or unblock other users.
• Allow blocking reasons: Let members provide an optional reason when blocking another user.
