wpForo - Groups Plugin Integration

When a forum has areas intended for specific audiences, general access settings may not provide the control a community needs. This integration uses groups from the Groups plugin to manage access to wpForo forums, categories, and sub-forums. Site administrators can assign access rules to individual forums and create discussion areas for selected groups.

The integration fits wpForo communities that organize discussions around different user groups, including membership sites, educational platforms, and niche communities. Administrators configure group access while editing individual forums, linking each area to the desired groups. A setting also lets administrators set default forum access to all membership plans.

Features

• Group-based forum access: Set access permissions for specific groups so only the intended users can view or participate in a forum area.
• Control across forum levels: Apply access restrictions to categories, forums, and sub-forums to organize visibility across the forum hierarchy.
• Configure individual forums: Edit a forum and link it to groups created with the Groups plugin to set its access rules.
• Private discussion areas: Create members-only forums for selected groups, keeping those discussions away from the general public.
• Default plan access: Set default forum access to all membership plans using the available forum access setting.
• Groups plugin integration: Use the Groups plugin framework to manage group assignments and apply them to access rules for wpForo areas.

Best for

• wpForo communities with private forums
• Educational platforms with group-specific discussions
