Overview

Location-based content can be hard for visitors to explore when it appears only as a list of posts. Progress Map WordPress Plugin connects posts to map markers, giving visitors a geographic view of listings such as real estate, retail locations, hotels, restaurants, and jobs. The map works alongside a carousel, so visitors can move between locations and listing details in either view.

The plugin supports default and custom WordPress post types, and locations can be added through coordinates in the post form. Selecting a carousel item targets its map location, while map markers connect visitors with detailed posts. Additional options include visited markers, colored marker clusters, URL hash navigation for carousel items, and automatic geotargeting after the map loads.

Features

  • Interactive Google Map: Display location-based posts as markers on a Google Map, giving visitors a geographic way to explore listings.
  • Linked Listing Carousel: Show listings in a carousel connected to map locations, so selecting an item targets its corresponding marker.
  • Custom Post Type Support: Use the plugin with default or custom WordPress post types to display different kinds of location-based content.
  • Coordinate Entry: Add precise location coordinates through the Add New Post form when creating location-based content.
  • Visited Markers: Customize markers that visitors have clicked, making previously explored locations visually distinct on the map.
  • Colored Marker Clusters: Use gradient-colored clusters that adjust to marker density to create visual separation between groups of locations.
  • Carousel URL Navigation: Enable navigation through carousel items using URL hashes, and set marker clicks to open a custom URL in a new window.

Best for

  • Real estate listing websites
  • Retail and store location sites
  • Travel and hospitality websites
