Overview

Form submissions can bring spam and other unwanted activity to a WordPress site. This add-on checks the submitting IP address against AbuseIPDB when a form is submitted, then blocks IPs that meet the configured severity threshold. A local IP blocklist can also help cover cases where AbuseIPDB has not yet reported an address.

The add-on works with Gravity Forms and can protect multiple forms on the site. Site owners can review blocked attempts and submission data in logs, and can mark submissions from Tor exit nodes as spam. It suits blogs, online stores, membership sites, and other WordPress sites that collect information through Gravity Forms.

Features

  • AbuseIPDB checks: Checks form submission IP addresses against AbuseIPDB to identify addresses associated with reported abuse.
  • Configurable blocking: Set a severity threshold for blocking IP addresses, giving site owners control over which submissions are stopped.
  • Local IP blocklist: Add IP addresses to a local blocklist to cover cases where AbuseIPDB reporting has not yet caught up.
  • Tor submission handling: Mark submissions from Tor exit nodes as spam to help manage form entries from those IP addresses.
  • Attempt logs: Review logs of blocked attempts and submission data to assess activity coming through Gravity Forms.
  • Multiple form coverage: Apply protection across Gravity Forms on the site, rather than configuring coverage for only one form.

Best for

  • WordPress sites using Gravity Forms
  • Blogs collecting visitor submissions
  • Online stores screening form entries
