Miresa – WordPress Rich Text Editor For BuddyPress

BuddyPress activity updates are limited to plain text by default, which restricts how members can present information. Miresa replaces the activity text box with a visual editor that supports formatted text and HTML content, including images, videos, links, tables, and GIFs. Members can create richer updates from the editor without writing code, making it suitable for community sites where members post directly to activity feeds.

The editor includes controls for text styles, font choices, colors, paragraph alignment, lists, emojis, and special characters. Site managers can use the settings panel to enable or disable individual editor modules, with only selected module scripts loaded. Members can also undo or redo edits, switch to code view, and search for GIFs through the built-in GIPHY integration.

Features

• Rich text formatting: Members can apply bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript, and subscript styles to text in BuddyPress activity updates.
• HTML content support: The editor lets members add images, videos, links, tables, and other HTML elements to activity posts without writing code.
• Module settings: Site managers can enable or disable editor modules, including font styles, line height, text color, background, and emojis, from a settings panel.
• GIF search with GIPHY: Members can search for GIFs and animated stickers through the built-in GIPHY integration and insert them into their posts.
• Text and paragraph controls: Members can choose fonts and text colors, add background highlights, align paragraphs, and use horizontal rules and lists.
• Undo and code view: The editor provides undo and redo controls, along with a code view option for users who want to work directly with HTML.
