Overview

SantaPress adds an interactive Advent calendar to a WordPress site. You can customize its layout and style to fit your site, then place festive content behind calendar doors. The doors unlock on the corresponding day, so visitors can return to discover new content as December progresses.

Use doors to share quizzes, images, videos, special offers, or personalized messages. A countdown timer can appear in the calendar, and the plugin supports multiple languages. Site owners can also track visitor interactions with calendar doors to review how people engage with the content.

Features

  • Custom calendar design: Adjust the Advent calendar layout and style to suit your site's theme and holiday presentation.
  • Daily door reveals: Calendar doors unlock on the corresponding day, revealing new content as visitors return throughout December.
  • Quizzes behind doors: Place custom quizzes behind calendar doors to give visitors an interactive activity as part of the daily reveal.
  • Multimedia content: Add images or videos behind calendar doors, alongside special offers and personalized messages.
  • Built-in countdown: Add a visual countdown to the calendar interface to mark the approach of the holiday period.
  • Interaction tracking: Monitor visitor interactions with calendar doors to review engagement with the content you publish.

Best for

  • WordPress sites publishing holiday content
  • Businesses sharing seasonal offers
  • Creators planning interactive Advent calendars

Changelog

Version 2.0.0

  • New AI Calendar Design — describe a scene and let AI generate your calendar design (SantaPress > AI Design & Slicer, opt-in, 10 free generations per license)
  • New Slicer — cut any calendar image (AI-generated or from the Media Library) into single door images along an adjustable grid, with an option to assign the slices to your doors directly
  • New Blank calendar layout — start without door images and design your own with AI Design & Slicer
  • New Two new calendar layouts — SantaPress now ships 6 layouts plus the blank calendar
  • New Redesigned Auto-Layouts — the door popups of all 6 layouts now match the colors and motifs of their calendar, including the quiz buttons
  • New Choose between the classic editor and the block editor for doors (SantaPress > Global Settings, default: classic editor)
  • Improved Layout selection shows the blank calendar first, followed by the templates in rows of three
  • Improved Custom CSS field uses the WordPress code editor (syntax highlighting, line numbers, error markers)
  • Fixed Custom CSS containing child selectors (>) or quotes had no effect on the front end
  • Fixed HTML5 video and audio kept playing after closing a door popup; closed doors are now removed from the page
  • Fixed Updated the bundled Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) from 6.6.0 to 6.8.10

  • Security Door popups, quiz answers and click tracking now only work for published doors — no password protected, unpublished or other content can be fetched
