SearchWP Xpdf Integration

PDF files can hold useful information that visitors may have trouble finding through a site's search. This plugin connects Xpdf support with SearchWP, allowing the search index to include text from PDF files rather than relying only on their titles and metadata. It suits sites that publish documents such as informational resources, library materials, or digital books.

The integration can index PDF text along with metadata, custom fields, and taxonomies. SearchWP can then use that indexed information in search results, with adjustable weighting and ranking for PDF content. The plugin also works with SearchWP features such as live search and search forms placed through Gutenberg blocks or modal popups.

Features

• Index PDF text: SearchWP can index the words inside PDF files, making document content available to visitors through the site's search.
• Include document details: Index PDF metadata, custom fields, and taxonomies alongside the text contained in the documents.
• Adjust result ranking: Fine-tune the weighting and ranking of PDF content in SearchWP results to influence which documents appear first.
• Support live search: Use indexed PDF content with Ajax-powered live search, showing search suggestions as visitors type.
• Place search forms: Add PDF search forms to a site through Gutenberg blocks or modal popup windows.
• Manage search results: Promote important PDF documents or keywords, and exclude posts or pages that are irrelevant to search.
